UK threat level is SEVERE: what it means for your site

The UK national terrorism threat level is currently SEVERE, which means an attack is highly likely. The level is set by the Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre and published by MI5.

For most businesses this is not a reason to panic, but it is a good moment to check that your site security is working as it should.

Five quick checks for your site:

• Make sure entrances are controlled and visitors are signed in
• Check that CCTV is recording and someone is watching or reviewing it
• Brief staff to report anything suspicious straight away
• Keep fire exits and perimeter gates secure but usable
• Agree what your security officers should do if an incident happens
